What if sunscreen was designed as something to carry, rather than something to store away?
For Solace, Unruffled explored how an everyday essential could become part of someone’s personal style. Instead of a basic tube, the sunscreen was designed as a portable object—made to be attached, carried and seen.
Daily products are increasingly becoming accessories. Not because their function is changing, but because the way we carry them is. Lip gloss is attached to phone cases, water bottles have become lifestyle objects, and functional products are becoming part of how people express themselves.
That shift became the starting point for Solace.
Rather than following the typical visual codes of the beauty industry, the concept draws from outdoor gear, technical wear and performance fashion. Paracord, carabiners and utility details shape a world built around movement. Turning sunscreen into an object designed to go wherever you go.
Inspired by brands such as Nike, Salomon, Oakley and Arc’teryx, Solace explores how functionality can become identity, and how packaging can move beyond protection to become part of someone’s everyday uniform.
Because the most interesting packaging does more than protect a product. It gives people a reason to take it with them and, perhaps more importantly, to keep it.
Solace is an independent conceptual project exploring the intersection of packaging design, product design and brand worldbuilding.
